SUPERPOLTRONA reinterprets the archetypal poltrona through the SUPERSEDIA lens, establishing a contemporary, elevated language for the intimate act of sitting. Positioned directly beneath SUPERDAYBED in hierarchy and presence, it offers a concentrated, sculptural form of repose, conceived to pair harmoniously with its ottoman counterpart.
Forged from two monumental steel sheets, the structure is anchored by a primary beam, curved in a downward momentum to hold the chair with precision and balance. Between these sheets, the internal framework is revealed as a quiet technical narrative, reminiscent of the inner architecture of a car door β every element both functional and expressive, unveiling mechanics without distraction.
Elliptical leather cushions rest within this construction, designed to support the hands and encourage natural, fluid posture. The cushionsβ geometry, paired with the four circular cutouts in the steel sheets, establishes a dialogue between reduction and identity: these openings reduce weight and visual mass while referencing a subtle quadrature, a cryptic signature of the SUPERSEDIA vocabulary. The number four is quietly present here for the first time, giving the piece layered structural and symbolic coherence.
SUPERPOLTRONA embodies a tension between exterior and interior, minimal construction and maximal experience. Its technical honesty, tactile softness, and orchestrated silhouette position it as both a functional seat and a contemplative object. Approached from any angle, it invites quiet presence β a piece to rest with, and to simply observe, in serene appreciation of its form.
